Mercator 0.2.0 is released. See the changelog below:

  • The game locks the camera to your current merchant now. You can unlock it using WASD and re-lock by pressing spacebar.
  • The load save button now hides itself if you have no saves to load.
  • Certain items like resources, fishing bait, and seeds now are sold in limited quantities by each customer. This is to encourage greater use of the scrapping mechanic.
  • Customers should trade low value, scrappable items more often.
  • The Workers codex entry has been updated to indicate known recipe value is what determines customer inventory values.
  • The info box now no longer has an internal priority and new information simply replaces old information on the screen.
  • The save directory is now outside the executable folder. This way downloading newer releases will not replace your saves.
  • A bug where the boat disappears on water if you click exactly where your merchant previously was has been fixed.
  • Added gardening
    • Customers now sell seeds. These are used to grow crops
    • There are currently two seeds in the game - malabathron and pepper seeds.
    • In order to grow crops, you need to purchase farmland. There are three lots in Muchiri and no lots in Siraf.
    • Seeds will eventually mature into crops you can harvest. Rain makes them grow faster.
    • You can plant seeds by dragging them from your item bar to the farmland.
